im sure this has been pointed out, but on my chart i have a trend line where price has hit on my tick chart, but its still aways away on my betterrenko and range chart and i cant figure out why..

Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Range based bars are built differently to tick bars. Think about the following scenario:
400tick chart and 20 range both ES. the 400 tick will generate many bars and the 20 range only very few.
now we take 400 tick on cl and a 5 range when cl moves fast you have lots of range bars with few tick bars as it moves far with few ticks. But when it stalls you often have many ticks and a narrow range thus less range bars....
so if i wanted to follow the tick/minute chart does that mean that the initial drawing should be made on a tick or minute chart? or is it ok to draw on range charts, but follow on tick/minute charts?
