Hi there,

I have the same problem here:

I use MT4 for analysis (MBT feed) and NT for chart trading (MBT feed) but charts are set differently. And I am located in France.

I changed my Pc clock to match the MT4 chart time and then changed my template session to "Default 24/5" in NT (and then reload all historical data) but I still have my local time charts in NT...

My goal is simply to have the same candles in NT and MT4...

Do you guys have any idea of what I did wrong?

Best is always to use the real NT Session times and set them relatve from the exchange location (e.g. EST.) That will handle time switches and you keep your PC on your local time (unless MT4 forces you to do otherwise.)

Thank you for your answer but I'm still a bit confused

At the moment:

PC Clock: 15:19
MT4: 15:19
NT (AUDUSD): 20:19

AUDUSD instrument is set this way...
Exchange: Default
Session Template: Default 24/5

...but I still don't have the same H4 candles displayed...

This is the bit you need to check in the Session Manager for the session selected in the instrument data series dialog:

It should be possible to make the data series only depend on the NT session settings (unless there is something about your data feed I don't understand), when all else fails put a shout out to Harry @Fat Tails !

MetaTrader is a Broker Software and the time settings depend on the Broker. Do you know at what time the MetaTrader trading day starts? Is the time European based or US based (daylight savings issues) ?

With NinjaTrader things are pretty simple. The FOREX trading day starts at 5:00 PM EST (New York time) and ends at 5:00 PM EST next day. You need to use the session template "FOREX" or <instrument settings>, which will draw the same template. NinjaTrader will then correctly display the 240 min bars.

The MetaTrader bars look incorrect anyhow. If you post a 30 min chart from MetaTrader with a visible time axis, I will comment it.

Yes, MT4 time depends on forex brokers. I rarely notice time information on trading software. Just use H1 chart and we know for sure this is 1 hour, 2 hours, 3 hours... ago

MT4 does not allow to select the start of the trading day. The trading day depends indeed on the time zone of the broker. I have mostly seen Cyprus time so far. Not really related to the markets, but just taken from the data servers.

With NinjaTrader you can select the start of the trading day via the session template, therefore you are more flexible.
