Does anyone know where I can find a multi-timeframe ADX indicator, e.g. on a 4 Range Chart, plot 1 minute / 3 minute / and 5 minute ADX lines? I've seen it on Sierra, but would like to use it on NT 7
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Under Input Series in NT, it offers a choice of indicators, Close, High, Low, Median, Open, Typical, and weighted, it does not offer the option to change the data diplay from Range to Tick which is what I am trying to do.
(1) Add a second DataSeries object from minute bars to your chart, display that DataSeries on the first panel and set the bars to transparent. You can now access that DataSeries from within the indicator panel of the ADX as input series.
Only inconvenience: Your primary range bars will now be unevenly spaced, as NinjaTrader will automatically switch to non-equidistant (that is time-based) bar spacing, when there are two DataSeries objects on your chart.
(2) Use a specificly coded multi-timeframe indicator to display the ADX calculated from minute bars on the range chart. In this case you may keep the equidistant spacing of the bars, but pay with a small lag of the indicator, as the values calculated from the secondary bar series, will be shown on the first bar series with a small deplacement, which depends on the closing time of each bar.
Thanks for the response Fat Tails. What if I opened a second chart ( a Minute Chart this time), and minimized it and placed it at the bottom of my Range Chart? How would I go about showing a 1 Minute, 3 Minute, and 5 Minute ADX simultaneously on that chart?
This version includes few additional features:
MA line dash style can be used now to reflect all existing coloring modes like slope, rising/falling, support/resistance etc…
MA line width can be used now to reflect all existing coloring modes like …
