Does anyone know how to duplicat a chart to make another chart instead of opening another chart and inputting all the data. I know in Investor RT all you have to do is right click and hit duplicate and presto you have the same chart. It's just a big hassle on Ninja if you want to open the same chart with the same indicators on it. Just wondering if anyone knows how to do this.

Thanks
Hector

Hi,

New to NT as well, I dont know how to duplicate a chart but the the way i do is
1). Save the indicators on the original chart to a template. (righ click on the chart, choose templates and give it a name under save as)
2). open a new chart and pull this template and you have all the indicators that you have on the original chart.
3). another think is, if you have a bunch of indicators that you like, you can save it under "default" template and every time you open a new charts you have your favorite indicator on this chart.

Hope this is what you are looking for and experienced users and give you additional ideas.

Thank you.
CS

I do not believe there is a simple way to 'duplicate' a chart like you can in TradeStation.

I have seen a third party vendor add-on that adds a menu option to the right-click context menu of a chart, "Duplicate", that will do it. But I am very sorry to report I cannot remember the name of the vendor.

But it does at least seem possible, from what I remember.

You might ask @NinjaTrader, maybe they are familiar with their vendors.

But yes, this type of feature would be much better if implemented directly into the platform

Hector, I asked NT about this a few months back and the answer is no, you can't duplicate a chart. The only way to do it is as sudhirc said, create a template with the indicators you want and open a new chart with this template.

Hi all,

On a similar note!
If my original chart is 6E with all the indicator settings i want, and now if i want to check YM, instead of opening up another chart window is there a way to bring another instrument on to it and delete the origincal data series? with out getting "The primary series on a chart cannot be deleted" (i know i can get the second instrument below the original)

Sudhir.

Sudhir.

Right click the chart,
Then choose INSTRUMENTS on the popup.
All of the instruments you have added to the Instrument Manager will be in the list.
Click the one you want and it will change the current window to that one.
