Not every day, but each series of desired contract.
Definitely it will be faster to code a little indicator. Thanks for your help!

much faster to switch to MC7 and use a custom session... they are both free now right?

The discretionary version of MC7 is free, but it does not allow you to use any custom studies. So, for me it is next to worthless, except for testing some of the other features.

The RTH session is not 1440 minutes, that is the whole day (RTH+ETH)... the RTH session is 405 minutes.

Indeed, but the solution is still right. If you use a RTH session template with 1440 minute bars, all bars will be cut off at the end of the session, and

-> for ES you will get 405 minute bars
-> for CL you will get 330 minute bars
-> for the FDAX you will get 510 minute bars

So in the end it is better to select 1440 minutes than any smaller number as our bar period.

I learn something new every day... I guess it is similar to what I can do with MarketDelta by setting up the instrument for the 24 hour session, but change the properties on the chart to ignore everything but the last 405 minutes..

With the session template of NinjaTrader you can select how to display data. If you use a simple RTH session template for ES from 8:30 AM Central Time ti 15:15 Central Time, and you decide to display hourly bars, the last bar will only have 45 minutes. If you select to display a 1440 min chart, the last bar will only have 405 minutes. Just by coincidence it is the only bar of the session.

If you display 1440 minute bars and divide the day into two sessions

- first session from 3:30 PM to 8:30 AM (night session)
- second session from 8:30 AM to 3:15 PM (day session)

NinjaTrader will display 1 bar for the night session and 1 bar for the RTH session.
