I would love to have the ATM upgraded to allow more than 3 targets.

Perhaps one would like to enter 10 contracts and take 1 off every 10 ticks?

Not currently achievable as far as I can tell. We are only permitted 3 targets.

I agree. This would be a very useful upgrade. I would like to suggest that it be implemented as a capability to couple together/join an arbitrary number (within reason of course) of ATM Strategy Template Blocks (the bottom portion of the DOM) as suggested in the accompanying screen shot.

as a chartrader user, it is nice to see the current bid and ask price. but i am not a fan of seeing the volume behind,
so on my wishlist is to skip the volume off if you want.

thx

I know we have all talked about the problem with HISTORICAL and REAL-TIME strategy results. Today I tried to figure out if I could get around the problem. I think the long and the short of it is I am out of ideas until NT8 is released. I know this has been talked about but didn't really know the extent of the problem until now. I have decided to document the problem for others to see.

I cannot tell you how many emails I field, saying, "Can you help me get this strategy working real-time, it has great results with historical trading."

My summary is that NT7 cheats in many situations due to what appears to be the round-off in time to seconds. If things happen in sub-second timeframes, they are grouped together and now out-of-sequence vs real-time or replay trades.

I have attached a word document with an isolated historical trade and the same trade via Replay. You will see in the 6/27/2014 11:30:56 block the differences in the trade. Ultimately allowing historical trades to obtain better fills by using ticks that occurred prior to the actual event. The primary bar type of NG 08-14 was a RANGE-5 and the second is TICK as recommended to get better correlation between Historic & real-time. You will see the BarsInProgress (BIP) for the primary=0 occur at different time vs the Real-time (replay) version which occurs in the middle of that time block. I wish I had investigated this in detail prior as this renders any "mixed" bar-types to look back in time and get a better fill.

Had I done this investigation a while ago, I would have written my own back-testing engine. This really makes NT7 not useful in backtesting anything other than single timeframes with COBC=true. I would say that basic MINUTE or MINUTE and 5 MIN multiple timeframes may be calculated correctly given this limitation. Hopefully the news on the 2nd is good, otherwise I need to start coding my own system. I was wondering why I have started seeing many NT users developing their own backtest system.

Hopefully @NinjaTrader (Ray) you have good news, this hurts... I know many of us have pushed the envelope and a great support of NT due to the C# extension but I don't think this error is really excusable.

Is it possible to make Ninja be able to trade 2 instruments or more from the same chart..?

FOR EXAMPLE: We have CL and the Euro on the same chart == but if we use chart trader - it will only Buy/Sell on the first Data Series.

It would be cool if the Chart Trader could be modified so you can easily instantly buy and sell any of the 2 you know.

I will place this on the Ninja 8 request thread also... but was wondering if someone made some kind of work around.

~~THANKS~~
~~CHEERS~~

UPDATE:
I tried adding @vvhg MiniTradePanel to the chart and then putting it on the Euro 9-14 Chart series. I bought and sold (sim of course ) and it executed on the Primary Data Series CL 9-14.

So that didn't work. Dang...

I love Chart Trader really I do--- BUT I HAVE A FEW Requests that would make it awesome

1. A BUTTON ON THE CHART or CHART TRADER -- TO TURN ON or OFF the AUTO SCALING of the ORDERS on Chart Trader !

It is very very annoying when we have a very far target and want to look at very small detailed price action! And the orders are messing with the Chart Scaling. This should be changed to give a BUTTON that we turn that on or OFF - in the toolbar or Chart Trader -- I don't care. This would be AWESOME.

2. BETTER AND INSTANT TARGET ORDER MOVEMENT. The Jigsaw dom has a awesome feature.. which is MOVE LIMIT ORDERS to a PRICE with one Click.

We select the a button -- then click on a price -- then it moves all the Target orders for ATM to a price very very nice.

Makes moving all your Targets to one price very nice and fast. This should be included with a keyboard Shortcut.

Thanks!

All of These would be highly appreciated.

NT8 Chart Trader has been improved to allow you to trade any instrument plotted in your chart. There is no out of the box capability to issue multiple orders against different instruments in a single click. That being said, NinjaTrader NinjaScript customization would allow developers to build and integrate such functionality.

Thanks for the suggestions. On #1, Chart Trader orders will have an AutoScale property in NinjaTrader 8.
