I'm sure there is probably a simple solution to my problem. I'm currently using PriceActionSwingOscillator to create a wave volume histogram. I have Calculate on bar close set to "False". This causes the indicator to require a refresh nearly every time a new bar closes. Is there a way this refresh can be automated?

Please see screenshots for no refresh versus constant refresh.

Thanks.

can someone tell me what the dashes on the oscillator mean and without having to read through the whole thread is there some info of how to best use this oscillator

Cheers and its a great tool

Hi,

I have recently started using this amazing indicator and it has helped me from being a long term break even trader into profitable trader, thank you for that.

I have one request, would it be possible to make this indicator draw (swing lines or plot values) only for the data that is visible on the screen? It will be very useful when looking at historical data and doing manual backtesting.

Thanks again

Hello folks,
I was trying to use the strategy wizard to see if I could get the oscillator to be used in a strategy.
If volume > 2000 enter long. I know from reading the posts that this thing repaints but I just wanted to see how it
reacted when it did.
Any idea why this doesn't work? I used the plot VHigh as I can change the color on this so I figured I had the
correct plot when using swing type standard.

Thanks,
Vic

This indicator works amazing, but it lack of one quite important option.

It should compare previous swing swing to detect 121 formation that's very easy to program.

Also ABC pattern recognistion works amazing, but for me it will be better if it could detect Running Correction.

RC is more realiable pattern than 123 (it still depends on trader), but if you could add this two options this indicator will be much more powerful.

Since it is easy to program, just take the source code posted here, program it, and then post your modified version.

Ok, Mike you've got me I thought it's easy, but I have no idea how to program. If I knew probably it would be already on attached to my post If anyone want help to make it I would be more then pleased to help in that with all my wisdom about those formations.

Hi,

I am trying to get to a basic setup with this fabulous indicator (Non pro version) that just shows me dots and swing length for each swing.

However, I find with both the default settings and any change to those settings I make that whilst it plots dots for each swing, it does not print the length of each swing.

I've attached a picture to show what I mean.

Can anyone please help this newbie explain what I'm doing wrong.

PS I should explain I'm a Multicharts user just using Ninja for Jigsaw's tools

Might try changing: "Visualize Swings" > 01. Dots_ZigZag (or ZigZagVolume ) then make the zig zag legs transparent if you do not want to see them. Or, maybe going to the Pro version would make a difference.

Casey,

Thanks for the reply but that's not my issue.

My problem is that it is missing the swing lengths for a bunch of swings.

Eg if I chose dots it would label the swing length for a few swings and then miss the next couple of swings and so on.

I want it to put in a swing length label for each and every swing.
That's all I need, nothing else.

To narrow down my issue further I think it is linked to red dots (LH, LL) per the attached pic.

All other types of dots do have the label shown just not red dots

Please ignore my request.

Sylvester already answered my question back in post 1002

I was simply unaware that the default text color for LL LH was black, which made them invisible on my black background chart

Sorry for wasting anyone's time
