I uploaded a new version ( here). The ZigZagUTC mode is included again and a new mode that based on the parabolic stop and reverse (PSAR) indicator also included.

Now it's possible to show the complete volume of the swing and the duration.

I also added a second indicator called PriceActionSwingRelation. It shows the relation between price and swings. You can use it for other indicators or strategies. If PriceActionSwingRelation value is above 0 look for long entries because price made higher highs and higher lows or a double bottom - short vice versa.

PriceActionSwingRelation values:
-2 = DT
-1 = LL and LH
0 = price is nowhere
1 = HH and HL
2 = DB
Attachment 12724

You mean that the relative volume value @ HL pivot should be positive and above zero to go for long entry?
Please clarify.
Regards,

Hi

Finally I have set up The GomCD indicator running with recording feature with the help of YOU, Mike, et al in this forum.

As a next step, I have read many article to understand and make use of Swing CD & Absolute volume numbers printed at each of HH/HL/LL & LH swing pivots.

i'm sure many use this as a trading edge in arriving at the entry and exit decisions.

Can you or any learned members in this forum thro' some light on how to interpret these numbers ? This would help me and many other newbie members like me in this forum to move forward in using this wonderful indicator more effectively.
May the inventor of this indicator may also chip-in to contribute his wisdom.
Thanking you all in advance.

great!! glad to hear you got that sorted out

I'm pretty sure you know what they mean. if not, here's a short explanation:

- absolute = the actual cd value
- swing cd = difference of the swings high and low cd value

if you're looking for how to use them, I don't think you'll get many responses. like I said before, I don't trade them and therefore I'm not going to give any advice.

good luck!!

Hello vegasfoster and FR5050,

I add an option to show the relative volume swing. Download the new version ( here).

Edit: NT7 bug fixed - now it works fine in NT7

Hi
Under Swing Values parameters options, the Swing volume has three drop down menu choices viz., Absolute, Relative and False.

Is my following understanding is correct on above three choices:
Absolute= total volume of the swing regardless of number of bars
Relative= volume per bar of the respective swing
False= do not understand, please clarify

Thanking you in advance

Hi

Thanks for your quick reply.

I think that I have put a wrong question without understanding your comment on price swing oscilator ( above / below 0-line) in relation to HH/HL and LL/LH price action swings. I am sorry about that.

where I need to understand about the various swing values are as follows:

(a) With regard to absolute & Relative swing volumes, I understand that it represents total and average volumes of respective swings. Is my understanding correct?
(b) With regard to GomCD's Mode, how does the Absolute CD & SwingCD values are calculated for a particular swing pivot and what is the implication of its positive & negative values
Appreciate if you could post a chart with simple narrtaion on the above for my better understanding.

I thank you again for your very valuable contribution.

Regards,

One last question on this series.

The swingCD is calculated as (BID-ASK) or (ASK-BID) ?
Thanks in advance.

Dorschden: Thank you very much for adding relative volume to the indicator. It looks great.

Goldstandard:

Check out my posts #41 and #42. Ord volume webisite has a lot of info on how to use the average volume of swings in trading.

Any comments on using GomCD's SwingCD Volumes for trade entry please.
