Can Market Replay Be Used in NinjaTrader's Free Version
I happen to have the free version of NinjaTrader and I cannot get the market replay feature to work.
Upon downloading Big Mike's October data, I unzipped it and saw a bunch of ".ntm" files. But unfortunately, Ninja Trader would not load any of these files (from its Tools ---> Historical Data ---> Import menu).
(By the way, the File ---> Connect ---> Market Replay Connection menu is not working for me, either).
Anyone happen to know what may be causing this? (Does the market replay feature work in the free version of NinjaTrader?)
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
I can confirm it does work with free version as I have used it. But I had a data feed and did not rely on downloading someone else's recorded data.
I have tried downloading data from futures.io (formerly BMT) as well without success.
You can get a demo account via AMP Futures (and others) with real time data feed from Zen Fire and then just set the NT options to active Market Replay recording.
This is the correct method. What does "not working" mean? Specific errors please, what does the Log say? Are the dates not listed? If so, screen shot of your db directory please.
Ok, did the replay files unzip to the db/data directory in NinjaTrader 6.5 ? You should have a directory containing the .ntm file for each replay date (e.g. 20091119 for today). Actually, you can have more than one dir for each date w/different names, of course ... each one corresponds to the start of a replay file.
Ok, what version of 7zip are you using? Or whatever program (WinRAR, etc)? It could just be an older version, and I used the latest engine to compress it -- so your version was unable to decompress it properly.
Or it could be the download was corrupted and just needs to be re-downloaded.
Thanks for your help, Mike. But this still doesn't work for me. There must be something else that I'm doing wrong. (Something with the instrument or instrument manager, I wonder? Or perhaps the free version of NinjaTrader no longer supports the market replay feature?)
Yeah, I'm pretty much just guessing at this point. Though I did contact NinjaTrader to see if the free version still supports market replay. Maybe that will clear things up.
On the french site "http://www.pro-at.com/forums-bourse/bourse-7-30940.html", this question of market replay is resolved with Demo NT 6.5 via zenfire. I, myself, dowloaded Big Mike's october data base. All is clear.
