If you could resell a lifetime licence, it would become a perpetual licence that would be valid until somebody accidentally died, without being able to sell it first.
This is one of the reasons that lifetime licences cannot be resold.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
1st) I'm from Spain so I don't know about US laws.
The license says that you cannot sell it but they say nothing about giving it to another person (with all my respect to NinjaTrader, is just it is an interesting topic to talk about, software licenses). I say that because is funny to see other things like soccer tickets in ebay, they say "I sell this amazing pen for $300, but hey, if you buy it I'll give to you a soccer/F1/whatever ticket!" haha... This way they are not selling the ticket directly because it's illegal, I remember a local TV Show calling to a seller, the guy was reaaallly calm on the phone.. LOL.. Wondering if the same happens in the US. I know it happens in UK too.
@DionysusToast This topic is about selling something that cannot be sold. I just made a comment about it, what's wrong with it?. Been working for 10 years in the software business and know what it is, but, at the end, my point is that you'd better don't try to chase your customers because things like that, it eventually goes against you. You must write it on the license, that's right. My point is that, If I were an administrator of this site I should close this threat, but I still have the right to make a comment like I did, if you don't like it, just tell it, but respect it.
yes, it does. I agree 100%. But they don't want you getting your money back if you are unhappy with the product. It would think the person wanting to sell is either not going to trade or unhappy with the product. I can understand being unhappy with it because it seems to be problematic every time a new version comes out. Frankly, I'm kind of tired of it and may want to switch, but not sure to what.
