Has anyone updated the futures.io (formerly BMT) Divergence Optimized indicator. Does not seem to work in NT7 ...5 or ....4. Love this indicator's options and used extensively with NT6.5. Want to use with BetterRenko and Range bars. fwiw. thx in advance

Are you talking about the OBV Diver indicator? If so there is an existing thread on it. If not, maybe you can be more specific and provide a link to what you are talking about. Make sure it isn't Elite since this thread is not Elite.

Thx for such a quick reply BigMike

The indicator i was referring to is contained in the zip file: futures.io (formerly BMT)DivergenceOptimized - I also downloaded and tried the D3Spotter zip.

Am referring to your post of Nov 12, 2009 with last Reply of April 4, 2011.

Don't know if the indicator you optimized was originally intended for this use, and let me elaborate what am trying to accomplish with the indicator (this may be an appropriate project for the coding experts on this team - don't know).

My trading style uses the WCCI format. Am trading futures on two types of data streams. Range Bars (20 size) and Median Renko Bars (12 size) (using the Better Renko Bars from this site). Have 18 months of tick data on Range bars and 11 months on Renko bars.

Based on my data analysis, there exists a distinct correlation (0.82) between divergence between ratio of price movement to CCI movement. With the CCI being a predictive indicator, this present obvious opportunity, if it can be harnessed.

My of the futures.io (formerly BMT)DivergenceOptimized indicator was that is was comparing the intrabar price movement to the CCI movement with various period settings. However, regardless of the indicator selected from the MAType input or whether the Dbl (Double Averaging) is T/F, all the indicators produce the same numerical results. The only difference being where the cyan diamonds or the magenta boxes occur.

i.e. the CCI and VWAP both produce the same results. Also the CCI 28 size and the CCI 6 size produce the same results. This obviously can not be correct if i understand the little bit of code that I reviewed in the indicator.

Any assistance and/or explanation would be much appreciated.

Thx in advance.

I am closing this thread, please use the existing thread:

Found by searching for "divergence".

Repost your problem there so someone can help. I did not author the "optimized" version so can't comment about it, and I don't use NT any more for a long, long time now so can't really help with your problem - but I'm sure someone else will.
