Dear Folks,

I saw many posts about building database for ninjatrader.

I see that anyusers like BigMike built a MySQL database where easily collect, store and backup tick data.

I don't know anything about c#, but I'd like to install database and start collect tick data.

I am a professional trader of a big bank...and for myself i want do at home my trading machine.

How can I install database and where can I find tickdata, expecially I am searching someone that have collected tick data of forex and for all futures?

I can help you in trading.

Regards

The question is

- which instruments would you require ?
- how many years of data do you need ?
- what do you need the data for ?

FOREX is a decentralized market, so not all data will be equivalent. If you want to backtest strategies, which enter and exit at a higher frequency, you should take the data that you actually trade. If you have a longer term time horizon, all data should do.

You can try Sierrachart, if NT is not mandatory, you can have a lot of hisorical tick data, especially for forex back to 2007.

Take your Pips, go out and Live.
Luke.

From the data perspective, i would recommend e-Signal, they are a bit expensive, but none the less, i have found their data to be quite good, and as to the database, you may need a bit of a reading, https://www.mysql.com it is the site where you can download MySQL and just run the install, how to use it, not sure at what level are you in dealing with computer systems. If you working for the professional broker/bank they most likelly have some good data service that you might be able to leverage of.
Let me know what exactlly you need help with such as :
 • database setup and install
 • ninja connectivity
 • and as from the source perspective, i have EUR/USD, AUD/USD, GBP/USD tick data for last twelleve montha that is sourced from e-Signal anyhow.
Hope can help

Thanks for all replay.
Well i don't want use data from my bank, I want to do all from myself with help of community.

I am not a programmer nor a networking engeer I am only a professional trader.

I read thta in the forum any smart guys do a mysql database,

The idea is learn c# and built my own strategy on ninja and backtest ut.

Yes in IT department there are engeneer, phisycsm, programmer that are building HFT, but I am old stile candlestick, technician analysis trading.

Just Now i want add fundamental trading to my technique. also because from buy side to built a full position, It takes to me more or less 2-3 weeks, less for sell side usually 1 week.

So one things is database, second is if are there here traders that have coded some fundamental indicator about company and about State, like PIL, Inflaction and so on...
Where could I find historical data like a retail trader?

Regards

I do not trade shares and options any more, but when i did, i used Integrated Investor software and data by HUBB, here is the link https://www.integratedinvestor.com/Home, the tool is made out of three components ProfitSource (Technical Analysis) OptionGear (Options analysis) and ValueGain, the tool does support integrated search between technical s and fundamentals and supports tick as well as EOD data, you will receive 10 years historical data for requested exchanges. Otherwise i have not seen anything on Ninja that will enable you to analise technical s and fundamentals at the same time.
Sorry i could not have been of more help
