Problem with a strategy & machine ID

I am trying a strategy that someone else owns. They authorize it with my machine ID number. They have made sure they have entered it correctly but when I run the strategy it can not find the authorization to run. I have reinstalled NT and reinstalled the strategy several times and always the same outcome. What could be causing this.

The programmer of the strategy says it is a NT support problem and they can not help me with it. They said I am the ONLY one with this problem.

Welcome to the forum

If you get a pop-up box saying something about the license for machine ID xxxxxxxxxx cannot be validated then the problem would be on the Vendor side. Probably the machine ID is not matching somehow. If it is some other type of error then you might try posting the relevant portion of your Log from Control Center so we can see the messages.

1) Stop changing things. No new indicators, charts, or methods. Be consistent with what is in front of you first.
2) Start a journal and post to it daily with the trades you made to show your strengths and weaknesses.
3) Set goals for yourself to reach daily. Make them about how you trade, not how much money you make.
4) Accept responsibility for your actions. Stop looking elsewhere to explain away poor performance.
5) Where to start as a trader? Watch this webinar and read this thread for hundreds of questions and answers.

Yes I agree, the issue seems to be with the Vendor licensing. If you own this product then they have not correctly licensed it for your machine ID.

If you are getting no where with them, I would lodge a complaint with NinjaTrader.
