@Fat Tails

You have to use Z-order also.

I couldn't figure it out so I bought a program to handle it. I don't have the polygon code.

@Fat Tails, @TMFT,

... but GomMP paints over the PiccyBack (see my screenshot below) ... and even my Gradient background paints over PiccyBack (see rightmost portion of my chart).

I know that it is just DrawRegion(). Even DrawRectangle() will draw on top of the background. However, for my NinjaTrader indicators I have mostly used DrawRegion(), and for a simple reason:

If I use DrawRectangle and also have horizontal lines within the same indicator, DrawRectangle plots on top of those lines, which I do not want. If I set ZOrder to negative values that will shift the rectangles behind the price bars, but it also shifts the lines printed by the same indicator, which remain covered by the rectangle.

DrawRegion() politely plots behind everything else, which is what I usually want. Now some mad guys want tho show off, and the advantage of DrawRegion() becomes an inconvenient.

I am not proficient enough to find a solution to the problem, and I am not willing to invest my time, as I will never use this gadget.

B-B-B-But then you got in trouble for no reason ......

Besides .... ask yourself... which is more important.... what Fat Tail needs ... or what ThatManFromTexas wants....

Did you ever think about replacing your trading monitor with a 3D television set?

Then you could directly select the background without having any of those ugly bars hiding the pictures.

.... @TMFT should have a go on a script that makes the background to indicate and not to "ecstasyse" ... I want to believe that he can do it, or is doing it.

@lolu

The image changes in sync with the trend .... ImageFileByThatManFromTexas.cs attached

@TMFT,

How did you get the Bollinger band to paint. I can't seem to get it to paint on my chart. My background pic is in png format ... I'm unable to get jpeg/jpg pics to show up.

Lolu

@lolu

I replaced the DrawRegion code with FillPolygon code in my BollingerEMA2 indicator and it solved the problem working with the @Fat Tails "gadget" ....

Fat Tails View Post
Actually I have a question.

The little indicator which I have coded always plots the background

-> behind the price bars and DrawRectangle()
-> but in front of DrawRegion() thus covering the shaded zones

Does anybody have an idea how plot the image behind the areas shaded by DrawRegion()?

@Fat Tails

I finally figured out the FillPolyGon stuff ... made my head hurt .... but like my daddy always said ... even a blind hog finds an acorn occassionally ...

Surely yes ... the other portions are irrelevant and filthy.

@lolu

I took your suggestion of using the same image and changing the hue depending on the trend. It works great , you just have to choose a "good" image to start with.

Thanks!

@TMFT,

This thing just works GREAT !!!

Your BB (Bolliger Band) has the Z Order code to make it work on the background; so, for any indicator with fills feature (e.g. Fat Tails' BB and VWAP, etc ), they have to be tweaked with Z Order for their fill painting to appear on the background... RIGHT ? How easy is this ?
