You need to explain that some more. I don't get that behaviour.

Hi Mindset, thanks for the reply

(i use: ninja 7 .0.1006)

ok, i love the gradient in the back , it lets me see the wicks very clearly and i dont have to use clear backgrounds that hurt the eyes, but has some issues:

1- doesn't saves customized configs , had to go in the code and change the colors there, so wen i close ninja and open it again i get the same colors i like.

2- the gradient seems to be in front of other indicators color zones/areas (example: sharkys's bands color fill area ) that are also in the background, hiding them. as shown in the images of my previous post. those 2 images of my previous post are the same chart, one with the Background gradient and the other without it. there you can see what i mean, in the one that has the background gradient you can only see the lines of the other 2 indies , not the colored zones.

anyways, don't wanna be a pain in the a** , what you have done is wonderful for the more "eye friendly" community of traders

thanks again, have a great one

Yes I think there is a limitation in using background color. Whichever indicator uses it last (in your list of chart indicators) or puts the z order first will take preference. Same with say coloring candles - if you have multiple indicators that change the candle color according to different conditions your last indicator will always take preference.
To my knowledge you can't get around this.

you can put the gradient codes directly in the charttype (ChartType.cs file in Type folder). this way you dont have to put any indicator and hopefully this will help to avoid any double paint issues.

the paintbar method has a graphics value.

Could someone point me to the snippet of code in the attached indicator that changes the background gradient from horizontal to vertical. I search high and low on the internet and can't seem to find the answer. Spent about 2 hours doing trail and error with no luck.

Thanks

Is there a way to build a line on close chart in NT with the area under the line shaded, particularly shaded with a gradient? See the attached picture for an idea of what I'm trying to do.

@josh

I have never figured out a way to do that.

Maybe @bukkan , @Fat Tails or someone of that caliber could give us some ideas of where to start...
