I discovered that if I use the ADXVMA with an 'Input series' set to some other indicator as well as the period set to a 2 and the conservative mode set to false that it makes for a good 'go-no-go' switch when used in a NT strategy in a single timeframe. My quest is to continue on with that also using a multi-timeframe strategy but when I go to modify the ADXVMA and then compile the error code 'CS1501' because the ADXVMA now sees the 'Input series' of another indicator as a multiple input as opposed to the singular input it had accepted earlier. Needless to say I am not yet versed enough to modify the ADXVMA to accept another indicator as an input for use in this type of application. Perhaps someone might have some idea/s on the minimal changes necessary to adapt the ADXVMA indicator to fit my goals?
Thank you,
I have attached a picture of the specific lines, and at the bottom of the photo are all of the eror codes (2). Line 65 is akin to line 78 and line 66 is akin to line 79.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
ADXvma only wants 3 parameters : (input, parameter, false/true) -- see line 65 / 66
for me what you did in the section that gives errors, it looks like this :
you gave ADXvma the BarsArray as INPUT and not the TSA (of the BarsArray) like in the upper working conditions.
but you have also this TSA now in there.
you give ADXvma 4 parameters now - that causes the problem - this is shown in the error -description "the Overload of .... blabla "
those messages are more important then the cs-code- info numbers linked to Microsoft stuff
i think you have to try the ADXvma of (TSA of BarsArray) ..... or so - depending what exactly do you like to calc.
That may do it, will have to try it and see if I can pull that off. You have seen what I am going for in terms of the issue in front of me. Thank you for looking and the suggestion/s.
Haven't had the opportunity to try your suggestion yet as my computer managed to catch a nasty little bug and not been up to the task. Will let you know how it turned out when the opportunity to excercise the suggestion/s occurs.
