Using Visual Studio (Express) w/ NT

I decided to separate discussion of Visual Studio as it deserves its own thread (and to keep the other on topic).

fluxsmith provided a link to the free Visual Studio Express from Microsoft:

So who uses Visual Studio Express w/ NT? What is your experience, hints, tricks, gotchas?
What do you recommend?

I thought I'd read that NT did not believe Express worked with NT, but I have no clue where I would have read such a thing. If I can get it to work, I will keep posting here. My personal programming experience is actually limited, and I tend to learn from examples and trial & error. Not very efficient but I've gotten by...

I'm now the proud owner of the full version of Visual Studio 2010, having played with VS Express versions for C# and C++, as well as Eclipse for C++ over the past few months.

LOL. It may be. I just saw Max's post and was about to mention that I did not find his when I did a search on Visual Studio.

Mike, would you like to delete this one?

P.S. Actually his seems to be explicitly and only for Pro -- I've only read his opening post.
