Welcome to

Welcome, Guest!

This forum was established to help traders (especially futures traders) by openly sharing indicators, strategies, methods, trading journals and discussing the psychology of trading.

We are fundamentally different than most other trading forums:
  • We work extremely hard to keep things positive on our forums.
  • We do not tolerate rude behavior, trolling, or vendor advertising in posts.
  • We firmly believe in openness and encourage sharing. The holy grail is within you, it is not something tangible you can download.
  • We expect our members to participate and become a part of the community. Help yourself by helping others.

You'll need to register in order to view the content of the threads and start contributing to our community. It's free and simple, and we will never resell your private information.

Finally, in the worst case scenario, with universalRTVisibility set to false, you could be viewing a workspace that does not house your indicator when the market session for your indicator's chart ends. In such case, switching to the workspace that houses your indicator will not cause the indicator to turn visible because no market events will be arriving for the chart/instrument that houses your indicator. In such case, you can just reapply your indicator to get its form/window to show up again.

Upon further investigation, I now realize that the above-mentioned "worst case scenario" is actually worse than reality, at least in NT7. It turns out that the OnMarketData(MarketDataEventArgs e) method in an NT7 indicator receives incoming market data even outside of the time window defining when the chart is updated. So, even in the above "worst case scenario" your form/window should still toggle its visibility properly (even without you reapplying the indicator to the chart) as soon as the next market data event arrives for the chart/instrument that houses your indicator.
