Hi all,

I basically wanted to replicate the old fashioned ticker tape sound every tick to get an audible feel for the market.

I need an indicator that will play an audio alert on every tick with reference to an audio file at C:\ etc etc

Thanks so much

If you're trading the SPI you'll have time for a nap between ticks...

Seriously though, will this cause some disk thrashing?

LOL. I trade something a little closer to you....the HSI.....and gold, when it's moving.

The reason behind this idea was the old tape readers like Jesse Livermore used to get a feel for the stock movements by the speed of the ticker tape machine, so likewise I wanted to hear the activity while I am doing other things around the house. The machines would "plot" every trade, however a simple workaround for me would be uptick/downtick movement.

I'm not sure about memory/disk usage. I tried the above indicator on a 1 tick chart (so it would alert every new bar) but it does not seem to update every tick (it seems to lag), even with a very short .wav file. Hmmmm.

If you're just looking for an alert, perhaps try the better volume indicator thats on this site....sorry no link, on my iPad...it's good for alerts like that though.

This might work pretty nicely with a fast instrument like CL or GC

Hi @Sim22, I developed PriceSquawk for this reason. It converts tick / chart / volume data into audio. Market Sonification. Please PM me if you want more info.
