I like the potential this presents.
I was testing this morning on the ZN 4 range chart with only the 1 contract. I set the strategy on sim and I just got back and it only took a couple of trades and stopped. Not sure why it stopped but i will continue to check it out later on replay.
I would like to know if someone can take this a step farther. I would like to trade this based off the 4 range chart but only take signals that agree with my 11 range chart.
This way you are only trading with the long term trend. The strategy still kicks your position out when the DMA turns to short but it doesn't reverse your position. It just lets the pullback happen and re-enters when it goes long again.

i would like to thank everyone for helping with the script ive taken everyones suggestion into consiteration and but ive been trying to keep this one as simple as i could with only the rules from my mind that make sense to me with trial and erros,i add a rule and take one off but im trying to keep this as orignal as i can to my first idea,if we want to make a different script later with more rules than im all for helping but the sharky script i would like to keep with just a few of sharkys basic ideas anyway thanks again for the awsome imput and good luck with your trading next week...sharky
- Saw that strategy didn't take certain valid trades. Reason was that strategy only allowed for new direction when being flat.
I changed ExitShort/ExitLong rules to allow for immediate reversal of position before being flat first.
- made second ZeroLag period also accessible parameter
- (line 70) added DMAPaint to be displayed on the chart
The DMAPaint in the .zip is adapted with the parameter PaintBar changed to false by default.
- (line 80) commented out "//if (Historical) return" to enable backtesting
As EOD all trades are closed don't see a reason yet to leave in.
Spend an hour before realizing that this was why the strategy didn't work in backtests.
BTW The DMAinternal.cs in this zip is my adapted version that also allows for TEMA, ZeroLagTEMA and ZeroLagHATEMA to be selected in the DMAPaint pulldown.
The wrong type of DMA was displayed with the strategy. This is corrected in the 1.03b zip
