Provider specific instrument symbol

Welcome everyone, nice to be here
Simple question: i have indicator and have to get from my own server (which is using professional data feed) custom data for current chart instrument (for example 6E 06-12), but NT is using his own symbols database. I think the only way to get proper symbol is lookup using specific symbol properties (exchange, expiry, master.instrument etc) using provider service. I'm using officially supported IQFeed stream so maybe there is simpler, faster and more convienient method?
Question is rather generic, not iqfeed-specific.
Thank you
