In an automated strategy I would like to force the display of an indie on the chart as the logarithmic type. How can I code this in a strategy?

You can code a new indicator, which displays the logarithm of the indicator and display it.

Other wise logarithmic scaling is suitable for daily or weekly charts, but not needed for intraday charts. An automatic strategy is typically running on intraday charts, so I do not see the point for a logarithmic display, to visually compensate for the change of the referenced price.

Again, if it is just an indicator, recode it to include a second logarithmic data series and just display that series.

Thanks @Fat Tails. I have not needed to look at this again until now, so hence my delay in responding. The reason I would like to display the type as logarithmic is because I'm filtering entries on a low volume which gets hidden with a linear display.

Specifically, if I wanted to do as you suggest with the standard NT indie VolumeUpDown, what should be done?

Cheers,
Nano

@nanobiotech: Display the logarithm of the volume instead of the volume, if that is what you wish.
