I would like to have NinjaTrader post the details of a trade to a website automatically when the trade is filled.

Easily. What's the format and method for posting to the website?

It might change based on having this capability. Can you direct me to information where I can learn how to do this?

Sure. If you want to go to the website via email, type

c# email

into google. If by http, type

c# http

into google. etc etc

I will look at this. I assume that the C# code would then be put into an indicator script?

Sorry, I assumed you knew how Ninja automatically executes a trade. The code would go in the c# code for a strategy, not an indicator.

Go here NinjaTrader Version 7

and look at Ninjascript

Question is "can it", answer is yes.

If question is how, answer is much more complicated. Especially if you are not a proficient programmer already. Most popular method would probably be using XML to post the data back to a url.

If you are trying to post to a vbulletin forum like futures.io (formerly BMT), it is much more complicated, because you have thread numbers, user id/password authentication, cookies, and other things to maintain in order to be able to post. You also have to do error checking to make sure the post was accepted.

If you are a php programmer, you could write your server backend to just accept an xml post from ninjatrader and do what you want pretty easily.

Thanks for the "heads up," BM. I guess I will have some learning to do. I am not a proficient programmer. When I come upon something I want to be able to do, I then figure out what has to be done to accomplish it. Looks like I will have a lot to learn for this one.

Sorry to bump such an old thread but I have the same question and I don't want it in a strategy. I use the chart trader / dom to trade and everytime I trade I want to POST it somewhere. I asked NT support and they said there was no "documented" way. If I know the hook to use, I can do the rest.
