I agree, VWAP is too hard, I am going back to EZ Trading Traffic Light systems. Or maybe the Hurley method. Or maybe a moving average system. Or maybe something with dots, and gradient colored backgrounds. VWAP is for professionals. I want to be a "looser".

Character is fate, as I believe some German once said.

So if you can change your character a little, you can change your fate.

exactly what I found, I kept adjusting it then gave up.

I think you're misunderstanding my post. I don't think automation will get far with Midas curves, and I think many of the extensions Coles and Hawkins present are very questionable - literally curve-fitting.

But I think the fundamental idea is theoretically sound and practically very useful.

I made some changes to enhance the display quality and usability of the automated zig zag MIDAS, but am holding off on posting the code.

The dialog in this thread shows a lack of interest on the part of most participants. Should you have an interest, there is good information here:

Reading the Markets: Coles and Hawkins, MIDAS Technical Analysis

Quoting
The trading plan the authors present is discretionary. There are no hard-and-fast buy and sell rules, though Hawkins offers a set of directions. Judgment is required throughout: for instance, where to anchor a curve, how to interpret multiple timeframe curves, and what kinds of market data to consider in addition to what’s on the chart.

(whoops, requires thinking. Get me out of here! Give me the Hurley Method!)

Intro to MIDAS

Then feel free to contact me by PM.

Here are Levine's original articles, which are the basis for it all.

Also today's 6e, with vwap, several S/R curves, and a couple of standard deviation curves. The lowest support curve is from yesterday's low.

As Levine says, Top/Bottom-Finder examples are generally rare. There was a pretty good example on yesterday's TF, though.

Hi Zondor/futuretrader - the chart you guys posted look very nice. I have one question - do you have an indicator that plots the S/R curves from different anchor points automatically? or you plotted each one manually ? I coded a tradestation indicator that I can anchor at any one point. So I have to apply it multiple times to anchor at different points. If you have tradestation code, appreciate if you can share the same. Thanks!
