"Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner said last month the U.S. government's role in housing finance should undergo "fundamental change," but that it should still provide some guarantees in the $10.7 trillion mortgage market."
Gee, Tim, how much are you getting in kick backs for having taxpayers bail out your buddies at GS, JPM, et al? It's painfully obvious that Fannie and Freddie are fronts for dumping toxic financial waste generated by irresponsible speculation by "banks". The government shouldn't be in the business of sponsoring home ownership. Period.
