Hi all,

Does anyone know a reliable source to download (historical and upcoming) economic calendar?

I want to use this information on a website, I know there are some scraping tools around to get information from other websites, but do not want to steal information from others (and scraped information isn't always 100% clean/consistant).

I have looked into tradingeconomics.com ($2999/quarter for API access) and xignite.com, but they are a bit too expensive for small use. Free would be cool, but paying (something in the range of $50-100/month) should not be a problem.

Does anyone have any alternatives? Thanks!

Hello Jerm, have you looked at scraping forexfactory or dailyfx.com?

I am also looking for a good world economic calender which shows
when is the news,
what time,
what type of news / events.

I don't need the detailed contents of the reports/news/events as I find it irrelevant.
Just the date / time will do for my day trading.

I tried quite a few websites including dailyfx, forexfactory, worldeconomiccalender, fxstreet .... but
there are quite a few very important dates missing from these websites.

eg 25 Sept crude oil went up significantly. I believe OPEC / Russian were talking about output curb
but this event was not reported

eg 30 Sept lean hog and soyabean went up significantly but none of the website talked about USDA report release date/time.
In future, I will gather the Agriculture report from USDA website directly.

same goes for metal inventory report release date / time.

yeah I wish I could have a small window with an alarm or some sort of color and audio signal to tell me when major news is released so that I can get out the market and decide to what to do after the market reacts... I want it to be super simple without ANY details, just a warning.

I use this Free Alarm Clock for Windows . I have to enter the time of the event if it is important, but I easily take that off the Bloomberg Calendar which I am looking at every morning anyway.

You do not win as a trader, you just get to play again the next day. If that game doesn’t appeal to you then you should not trade. Gary Norden

I wonder if I could just have Cortana remind me, she has been quite helpful with setting timers and making other alarms. I wish that MS would give her more functions.

Did you ever figure if that worked? Its a bit tiresome to keep looking up news especially since the news has been moving the markets lately

Financial Juice is decent - it lets you customize your news feed based on what you're trading (futures / fx / equities) from a huge list of sources. You can go into the settings and choose individual sources if you know what you're looking for.

The free tier includes delayed voice alerts for news (an anchor reads the economic release numbers ~10sec after they're released), the text alerts are pretty much instant.

Haven't seen anything that beats it's free tier, the only annoyance are the ads (both text & voice).

For paid services Bloomberg is the best I've tried.
