If you are surprised by this... you really have not been paying attention... and understand that this has happened in US history before!!!...

In this case, the government was probably correct to do so. The coins were never issued into circulation, or at least were never recorded as being released. That is why 10 coins were so valuable.

There was some disputes that they could have been obtained but the point was , the government said they were stolen. And since there was an order in 1933 or something to turn them in, they should have been turned in back then if they were obtained legally.

Math. A gateway drug to reality.
