Welcome, Guest!

This forum was established to help traders (especially futures traders) by openly sharing indicators, strategies, methods, trading journals and discussing the psychology of trading.

We are fundamentally different than most other trading forums:
  • We work extremely hard to keep things positive on our forums.
  • We do not tolerate rude behavior, trolling, or vendor advertising in posts.
  • We firmly believe in openness and encourage sharing. The holy grail is within you, it is not something tangible you can download.
  • We expect our members to participate and become a part of the community. Help yourself by helping others.

Quick Summary
'Widowmaker' Oil Trade Lives Up to Its Name

But then came Wednesday, when gasoline futures collapsed in the biggest absolute drop in more than two years.

The spread dropped by over 17 cents, the biggest one-day move since September 2009.

The price drop was so big it triggered a five-minute trading halt in all three oil major contracts for the first time since Sept. 22, 2008.

this speaks about the trading halt from yesterday our guys chatted about wildly here on futures.io (formerly BMT).

can someone try to explain this , because CL was halted as i know but also CL didnt drop that much to be over its limit up / down ranges.

just to understand what was up there i dont get all the facts in the article somehow.
