Hello ABCTG,
I made some test and sometimes the Easy Language Editor crashed when I tried to print every entry/exit point. I think that maybe 1 year and more of backtest with Iog True and bar magnifier active could be too heavy to print? Or maybe that's simply a bug of the editor...
Anyway I have noticed one important thing with IOG true: I can take advantage of intrabar strategy calculation for early entries INSIDE the bar where conditions are triggered BUT at the same time I CANNOT use this feature to trigger the EXIT that must be done AFTER all the intrabar calculation, otherwise I have too many wrongly exit during the same bar of the entry position.
So (please correct me if I'm wrong) as I've understood with my latest test (of course this is valid for my strategy, but could be useful for any beginner that is dealing with IOG ) you have to chose between 2 option in order to have consistent position exits:
1) Intrabar entry BUT NOT intrabar exit
2) Intrabar exit BUT NOT intrabar entry
if within your code you allow both intrabar entry and exit the strategy will probably wrongly entry/exit inside the same bar.
And the important thing is that SOMETIMES you can REALLY notice this only performing a real time simulation: testing your strategy during the open market leaving the chart with the signal all the day is the only way to see if entries and exits are correct and 90% of the time (with IOG true) I see huge difference that suggest me to add other RULES to avoid wrong EXITS...
Al least this is what I've learnt.
