Hello All,
I am new to trading futures and would like to know the pros and cons of MACD or TRIX as indicators. Which is best and should they be used to verify each other?
Thanks,
Bill
You need to be more specific in how you intend to use them as there are scores of indicators, RSI, Stochastic, CCI, PPO, it goes on extensively. There is no simple best really, its a major rabbit hole we all go through to varying degrees finding the right chart, instrument, timeframe and back-testing edges endlessly. Each one has a generally accepted way (or a few ways) of trading the signals which are documented.
Stockcharts (or just google) has a lot of stuff, one that addresses your question specifically. I happened to remember it: TRIX [ChartSchool]
For the most elementary things like how does xyz work, there is a ton out there, google, Youtube has a lot. Get a pen and paper or very soon you will easily forget what you have already seen.
