Hello, i am a manager of an friends & family account on interactive brokers. Actually i am using multicharts + IB Gateway.
I have a serious problem whit multicharts. When i tell this to multicharts support they tell me: the problem is interactive brokers. When i tell this to interactive brokers they tell me: the problem is multicharts.

When i buy 2 contracts the 5 for initial 5 minutes all is ok. After 5 minutes i can't see the real position. Multicharts does not show me the position of the friends & family account, but tws show me the position correctly.
my advise? Leave Multicharts and transfer your operativity with tradestation...You will have all in one platform, data and broker so you don't have a problem
@nivi, why not run MC+Rithmic . I will work out any kinks you have and at the same time, show you how to use the free R-Trader software by Rithmic that would double confirm your positions in the market place or lack of positions.
Lastly, you can also set one account with fixed allocation so you do not have to trade into the account directly.

I respect your decision, but there are a few of us around that do know Multicharts well. In lieu of the fact that you trade OPM, I suggest to think twice because API and software get updates, and you need to make sure that everything syncs.
In any case, I wish you well whatever you decide.

Without seeing this video you can not understand what the problem is.
I used such an account a few years ago. It's not the easiest account type for programs to work with, as there are complexities such as positions allocation etc.
Sierra has done extensive work on that, and I believe you'll have no problems; I didn't.
The problem continues. MC does not want to fix it. When I ask to MC then they respond that it is an IB problem. When I ask to IB then they tell me that is MC problem. But clearly it is an MC problem, because using IB TWS this problem does not appear
