Where to start if you want to learn .NET powerlanguage

I am just curious if anyone out there has taught themselves .NET and if so what resources you used to lean it. The stuff I am finding is geared toward writing computer programs and I am not sure if thats the right place to start or if that is going to be a lot of info I wont ever use coding for multicharts.net

This is the only resource that I know of: MultiCharts: Trading Software for Automated Trading and Backtesting ? View forum - MultiCharts .NET. You can also use forums and share your code (or some of it) to get feedback.

uspilotzzz,

I'd suggest to start with books/courses to lay a solid C# foundation. Besides that you will find the Multicharts.NET programming guide and the website tradingcode.net helpful.

Regards,

actually .Net with its different approuches to develop software is aiming at doing exactly this, writing computer programs. With MC the code is just embedded into Multicharts. There are not many resources for MC and .Net, only to be found on MC-Websites. There are also quite a few questions regarding specific developments with MC.Net and trying to understand the posted code and integrating into your MC.Net this will give you an idea what is possible and how to archieve this.

Nethertheless there is much more possible with .Net, giving you more opportunity for algorithms and analyzing charts with .Net with MC or MC.Net. For example you can interact from MC with a standalone .Net-Program and trigger actions in both directions. I've done this with the Non .Net - Version. You just have to find a start what you want to archive with MC.Net and there is only the support sites of MC. Installing a free version of .Net - Studio and developing some programs gives you a better understanding and feeling of the possibilities than only developing within MC.Net
