This has been a rumor for the past months, there is another competing platform coming out having a new generation of development methods bypassing MC, they are said to also have patents - which explain why the founders say MC is in "stagnation".

This doesn't say anything; there's always a new platform coming out. Previously, TradingView was new, in the next months IQBroker comes out, and in a year from now something else will be new.

Can add, that several rumors/speculations are circulating, that MC is becoming a broker like NinjaTrader ( IB decide to cut them of ) - that MC is pitching for an exit - that they have a IP violation of an existing patent, which might explain why Interactive Brokers cut them off ( if it was a IB decision) - that as said a new competitor with IP rights is coming in - that they were in an exit negotiation, but that this process was unexpected stopped.

In general, IB would not cut business off, and MC wouldnt either - participants do simply not cut off business and revenue in this sector, perhaps unless the other party is not generating revenue - so this might be caused by a serious issue, such as a legal issue.

(...)

So a major part of this question will be answered when we know why IB did cut off MC, or why MC did cut off IB.

I think you should write for the Daily Mail's gossip section since you sure have a knack for it.

Everything that you say here is based on assumptions. Sure, IB wouldn't cut off business, but we don't know whether MultiCharts (.NET) for TWS was profitable business for them. I don't think so, because this version never really took off and so the monthly fees ($39 for live trading) for MultiCharts (and presumably IB also) might not have been enough to continue this venture.

What I do know is that MultiCharts Support told me that both MultiCharts for TWS and MultiCharts .NET for TWS will be discontinued due to the contract with IB expiring. You make it look like this is related to other things, but if you do the math you'll see that the announcement of the end of MultiCharts (.NET) for TWS is around a year after its launch. So they probably did a 1 year contract initially.

Furthermore, MultiCharts now has a contract with another party for a free platform (the MultiCharts .NET Special Edition; as Matt can confirm).

So for all we know it might have been MultiCharts who did not renew their contract with IB since they now have another free platform. Furthermore, even if IB choose not to renew the contract, that still doesn't mean much since that's pretty common in business.

So don't make it look that much bigger than it really is.

@Jura

You put together a well crafted answer, and yes the $39, did not work out. that is all.
I confirm your statements as well.

I rather deal with facts as they happen, and when they happen it's never the way you anticipated it anyway.

As per JansenTrader, only one phrase comes to mind:
"In small towns, news travels at the speed of boredom"

We enjoy working with MC nowadays, and I am happy for their renewed success, they sure put a lot of effort into their product.

?

I read parts of that PDF and none of people and companies mentioned are related to MultiCharts. Instead, it's related to this. Perhaps wrong thread?

No.

Then please motivate your post. It would be interesting to hear which of those defendants are MultiCharts LLC employees, since that's what you're implying.

The company itself and its management are not listed in there, nor are people from the support staff.

No.

Dear @slickiam could you be a little bit more specific on that and shed some light on what you are trying to say us please?

Whatever that pdf is meant to say, geographically the math doesn't work: MultiCharts' development offices are located in Rostov-on-Don (listed on their website, so no secret here), and the people listed in that complaint live in Moscow, Russia or Ukraine. That's a daily commute of 1.074 km (or 667 mile; one-way) in case of Moscow or 854 km (531 mile; one-way) for Kiev. That's probably too much for even the most dedicated employee.

So I'm really looking forward to the motivation, but I do get the impression that he got the first SEC complaint with Russian names to somehow make his point (isn't that discriminatory? It is here in Europe).

Again, common sense would suggest that some people are trying to make this thread into something bigger than it actually is.
