Dear All,
I am several days into my MultiCharts trial. I dispatched these same questions to technical support several days ago, but did not receive a reply. I have no other means of getting any responses or clarifications. I hope you can answer them, as it will be very helpful to my purchase decision. All of my questions are related to Quote Manager
1) I am from outside the US. I subscribe to EOD data where I receive daily updates in an ASCII file. By trying to add symbols using the ASCII file (File -> Import Symbol List), MultiCharts only added 255 symbols out of 1,000+ symbols in the file. Please note that my ASCII file has several rows for each symbol. Each row represents an EOD price. So I resort to using (Symbol -> Add Symbol -> Manually) and using Universal DDE as datasource according to your tutorial.
2) Second, with the EOD data, all symbols are included in a single ASCII file. Currently, I find import data only works if I specifically choose a symbol (File -> Import Data or right clicking on a symbol). I cannot find a way to bulk update my data for all symbols at once. This is cumbersome since I have 1,000+ symbols and it would be impossible to separately import data for each symbol everyday.
3) Having successfully imported new EOD data to a symbol, I find that this new data is not updated when I open MultiCharts. In MultiCharts I have previously plotted a symbol last Friday. On Monday, I have a new EOD data successfully imported. This show when I click Edit Data in Quote Manager (Edit -> Edit Data -> Load). However, no matters how I try, this new Monday data does not show in MultiCharts plot. I rebooted the machine a few times to no avail.
Being stuck here with problems I have with Quote Manager, I have no really been able to experience fully the great features MultiCharts has to offer. Is it possible that most of your MultiCharts are from the US and are using the data feeds, and not having to face the same conditions as I do?
My final question is whether life-time license includes perpetual upgrades and whether BETA 6 is also available for trial users?
