Problem with pc clock and Chart display during Opening
Ok i have encountered some problems with the realtime display of my charts
in MC.Net. Honestly i have not so much experience with the platform yet. So maybe there is some good
advise how to handle such a problem as is described below.
I was told that the problem can be that my pc clock is not correctly in sync with the exchange and therefore only
the quotes are displayed in the realtime scanner and the chart does not start to move at the opening.
To make things worse it just stands still until i quit the MC and clear the cache in the quotemanager and do a restart
of MC.
Support was very helpful but right now i am in doubt that maybe three chat sessions have solved the problem.
Therefore i would like to know if anybody of MC users has encountered a similar problem and if setting the pc clock to a correct time (it was late maybe 2 minutes) has solved it.
Or just what is the best premarket opening procedure to make MC charting work correctly.
Like a checklist for a jetfighter.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
I have an atomic clock installed and had never no problems with correct display of my charts, however I´m using only NT and therefore no experience with MC. Maybe trying out the atomic clock could help. Downloadable here if you want: PTBSync Update Check
I synchronize my pc clock every day before I open MC and never had a problem. Although I have configured windows to sync automatically every day, I still do it manually in windows, too. I used to have a atomic clock sync tool, but the windows sync works fine for me with Windows 7 64Bit.
I use "SPtimesync" with MC and it works great, been using it for over a year...keeps perfect time...fully automatic....

That would be great,
but maybe my problem is just related to the Datafeed i am not sure if the
new version of IQFeed could have caused that problem.
So ABCTG it would be nice if you could try out i hope it will not affect your technical setup.
I just tested it with IB and Zen-Fire data using a session template for the ES that only uses the floor session.
Switching the time back three minutes didn't hurt Zen-Fire, it started plotting the data once the floor session started.
IB seems to use the computer time, as it started three minutes after the floor session had started, which was congruent with the deplayed computer time.
I am not going to try this with IQFeed, as this runs on a different machine and I don't want to mess with it.
My guess is that IQFeed is not dependent of the computer time, but you'd have to ask their support to know for sure.
To sum things up, depending on the data that comes into MC a wrong computer time can affect the charts.
i think i have to dig deeper into my setup.
Maybe it hast to do with something else so i will exclude the pc clock.
But i will care about the pc clock by synchronizing it every day with a ntp server.
