I've started to use the MC DOM early this week. Generally like it what I had so far however I've noticed the following issues:

Version I am using: MultiCharts Discretionary Trader Version 7.0 Beta 3 (Build 46)

1/ Placing an order clicking on the bid/ask field and than moving up or down the order. A few times now it happened to me that the number of contracts were increased while I was moving the original order... in fact today that cost me $$$ too since I did not notice the fact for a while that I had one too many contracts was bought and I was long 1 contract, while I've thought I was flat.

It seems depends where you click on the buy/sell field, sometimes it moves with no issues and sometimes moves the field with increasing the number a contracts... pretty dangerous if unnoticed...

This is a bug in my mind and shall be a fixed maybe in a similar fashion as on IB book trader configuration.

Thank you very much for reporting this behaviour. We reproduced it, and documented a bug. It has already been fixed.

Quoting
2/ see attached, restarting Multicharts seemed to solve the issue... basically DOM presentation got corrupted with showing 2 lines for the same price level - 108.98 - and shifted the order numbers on the buy/sell side

You should specify the correct Price Scale and MinMove for the symbol in QuoteManager.

MultiCharts - Raising the Trading Standard.

wow MC 7 is really promising .. i'm gonna love it .. for manual and auto trading.. it is far advance from metatrader and jforex.

anyone know how to buy stop/sell stop order with multiple position at same price for manual entry?

it is no problem for limit order.

thanks in advance.

Did you try MC vs. NT with the same IQfeed data? I know Tssuport are still beta testing this and it would be quite a valuable comparison. I guess they would appreciate feedback about the wicks too.

I plan to test this but have not had time yet (the sunny weather in the UK hasn't helped either )

Hello Nick,
Yes, it is with with same IQFeed connection. Sent an e-mail to Dave with the same pictures, but I have not received any reply yet.

Since there is a new thread on the GomCD's for MultiCharts I am posting four new pictures with 233/610 tick charts there. Don't think the minute charts give the best details.

By the way, nice weather here in Norway too, but still strangely enough someone decided it should snow in a neighboring city a couple of days ago

Laurus

MultiCharts, thanks very much for the prompt reply and the resolution of the first issue. I am sorry not giving enough details regards to the 2nd issue I've mentioned.
Here you go details below:
Started my computer and Multicharts along with the DOM around 6:30 AM MST used it with no problems till ~12 MST and left the computer and applications on. I've noticed the "corruption" as per the attachment shortly after 10 PM MST close to 14 hours later.
That means it is probably not that easy to reproduce... I did not experience the same issue since and also it was resolved with simple restarting Multicharts at that time. Hope this helps.

Can you advise when is the expected release of Beta 4?

MC DOM - "Strategy Parameters" "Master Strategy"
I've started to experiment with "Strategy Parameters" "Master Strategy".
Overall I believe you have the right idea regards to the easiness of setting up an automated strategy however I am not getting all the time what I am expecting.
See attached for my settings.
I hope I can make it clear enough what I have experienced in the last 24 hours.
I am getting mixed results as per expected outcome, sometimes the strategy executes as expected however sometimes does not. When it does not delivers expected outcome I've observed it did "bundled" the 3 contracts together for profit target, the stop loss seems to be fine.
So basically the goal is as per expected outcome to buy or sell 3 units/contracts and sell 1 at let say for the example at 8 pips/ticks gain than the 2nd position at 15 pips/ticks gain and than the 3rd target is 100 pips/ticks. Please advise if I am missing something? It seems this most likely would happen when the fill does not happen "in the same time" for the 3 contracts.

Thanks for your time!

If I searched properly, this seems to be the only "discussion" here regarding MktProfile. Not that I'm against going this route (haven't investigated it yet), but are there other options? Curious to know what others do to get MP into their MC...

Any add-on to MC for Market Profile is just that, an add-on. If you are truly serious about Market Profile you would likely chart with MarketDelta or Investor/RT.

Thank you Mike.

I am reading a book now about trading the emini's, and the author is big on Mkt Profile, and from the examples provided, I see why. So, I'd like to incorporate it into my paper-trading, ideally not at an added expense. I think TOS has MP, which I already have, and if so, maybe I can leverage that...

Through OEC, one can get MarketDelta's Footprint chart for $25/month. Not sure how that compares to other MD offerings, but I'll check into it.

Investor RT, I've heard of, and will check that out also. The homework list continues to grow...

Don't know how it is now, but time ago it was very poor and useless, but it was also free if i recall right.
