Hello everyone,

I am considering getting MC for back-testing ETF/futures intraday strategies.

My data source is Bloomberg. Just wondering if anyone has experience on Bloomberg datafeed connected to MC ?

Would it be very difficult to setup and etc ?

many thanks in advance.

No experience with Bloomberg data feed but the setup should not be that difficult.

I have worked with the data api in Bloomberg for a few clients.

You have to get your account set up and you can go directly using C#.

However, this is not something that you could release as Bloomberg does not like their data leaking.

Math. A gateway drug to reality.

I'm also a Bloomberg user, with MultiCharts.NET. From what I understand, they only allow you to use the Bloomberg datafeed with the $10k "Pro" version of MC (per the version comparison page on the MultiCharts website).

There may, of course, be other ways to use Bloomberg's data with the standard verison of MC.NET- but this is complicated by the fact that MC.NET doesn't allow you to add custom data sources.

Bloomberg is decent in terms of reliability prices are timely. However working with their API professionally I found it quite cumbersome and prone to issues when pulling at certain times of day. In retail space it is way too pricey for me. However if you can afford it not bad. As I say it depends on the API you are using. I've not used it with MC so let us know how you get on!

Thanks

Sands
