Hello guys,
I'm having issues with Multicharts and eSignal data provider regarding Close versus Settlement price for a while.
There are actually two issues and I'll try to explain bellow:
1) eSignal Close data is proving to be very unreliable for me as I have identified wrong values every now and then. Note that I'm not talking about the difference between Close and Settlement price (that's normal), but the actual Close value been wrong some times. Check for example the daily chart for ES #F on January 23 2013. (real data from CME: c=1490.75 / s=1490.25 | eSignal data: c=1485.25 / s=1490.25). The same is true for January 22...
2) Besides the issue I just described above I prefer to use the settlement price on my strategies and indicators. When I contacted Multicharts support today, they told me I'm the first client to request such feature (use Settlement instead of close).
By doing a quick search on the web I found other clients and users requesting the same "feature" back to more than a year ago... So right after this Multicharts support told me there is actually a request already opened and I can vote for.
So I just want to share the case and the link for Multicharts users to vote in case they agree with this new feature.
MultiCharts Project Management - Issue MC-1082 - [AUTOLINK]Multicharts[/AUTOLINK] requires 'Use Settlement for Close' / Settlement Value to match some symbols on eSignal & exchange Charts
ps: The reason I'm still using eSignal as a data provider is because this is the only one I found that supports the Brazilian EQUITIES and FUTURES data. IQFeed is great but only supports the BMF futures, no bovespa equities.
Thanks,
-Ale
