Hello, I have been trading discretionary (full on human eg mouse clicks) with NT-7 for about 2 years, not many issues but believe MC is a better platform including best charting and great system trading features. I am not a pro programmer and C# is a problem for me...

I have a lifetime MC license and did extensive system work some years ago (didn't work out - went discretionary to make money) however again considering an MC platform switch.

Can anyone comment if they, or traders they know are using MC-7 for Live (real trades, real money) Futures Trading?

I trade through Mirus primarily CME Group futures products, would be great to hear that MC7 is live trade worthy including other using it regularly.

Thanks for your inputs.

Hi,

I use MC 7.4 on a Cloud Server for automated trading (never used it for "manual" trading, though). I never had an issue with it. My broker is Interactive Brokers and works very well with MC.

I trade futures, in particular the german Dax and the Italian Ftse Mib. I use the Tradestation datafeed for the Dax and the Interactive Brokers datafeed for the Ftse Mib. All my trades are executed through Interactive Brokers.

Hope this helps!

Thanks elvis81 for the feedback, it's good to hear at least one trader using MC7x for live trading...

Yes, I trade real $ using MC-8 64 bit beta and an IB account. I trade GC with data from IQfeed. I am quite happy with the autotrading and with EasyLanguage.

Thanks Lampert, I haven't considered trading MC8 or 64bit, maybe it makes it out of Beta sometime soon.

Unclear the push for 64bit unless the strat or indicators are extremely data crunching intensive. Although this is a step forward for trading platforms which seems like a good thing...

TT- 64 bit is a good enhancement for backtesting and optimization.

Thanks again Lampert, hadn't considered backtesting/optimization. I would guess the performance delta for those tasks is significant.

Best - TexasTrader
