500 ms delay. How to create one

I have posted a similar question on Multicharts forum

MultiCharts: Trading Software for Automated Trading and Backtesting • View topic - My 500 ms Delay code froze MC

Using Easylanguage, I want to create a 500 ms delay. To do so, I used the getmachinetime.dll to capture the actual time. I then add 500 ms to it and store the value to a variable Targettime

Problem is the code froze Multicharts when I tried to turn off the indicator.

My question is, is there a better way to create a delay?
//Function MachineTime
DefineDLLFunc:   "GetMachineTime.dll", Long,"MachineTimeMill";
MachineTime = MachineTimeMill;

//Indicator DisplayTime

TargetTime (0),
Delay (500);

Targettime = MachineTime + delay;
While Value1 =0 begin
   if machinetime >= Targettime then
      print (Targettime);
      Targettime = MachineTime + delay;
Any help truly appreciated.
