At futures io, our focus is on quality education. No hype, gimmicks, or secret sauce. The truth is: trading is hard. • We work extremely hard to keep things positive in our community.
  • We do not tolerate rude behavior, trolling, or vendors advertising in posts.
  • We firmly believe in and encourage sharing. The holy grail is within you, we can help you find it.
  • We expect our members to participate and become a part of the community. Help yourself by helping others.

Thanks a lot for this webinar Mike. I'm currently taking the Coursera R Programming course & I'm looking for new ways on how to incorporate it in my trading. Will check out his blog.

I'm glad to see some interest. How many of you are brand new to R, vs seasoned/experienced?

Mike

Timely webinar - I'm debating on whether trying to integrate R into MultiCharts somehow (via custom DLL and/or IPC means) would be worth the effort. Given that I can use APIs for IB and IQFeed and simply go "Pure R", it may not be worth it (though there are fees going that route, plus it'd be a "fun" project).

Recently bought and currently reading:
...all seem pretty decent so far (and there's a lot of free information on the Internet as well).

I have been playing around with python more lately that's actually been teaching me a lot about basic programming. I'm still leaning towards using Mathematica for the graphing aspect. You can use R functions directly in Mathematica so that would make things a lot easier. I am excited about this webminar series.

There is already a direct R plugin for Amibroker with quite good documentation.

Thanks for interesting speakers!

HI Mike,

THANKS for all the interesting speakers that you invite. I am also moving from R to python.

Hope that you can invite Wes McKinney (pandas) for a webinar or maybe even Ben Klemens (Modelling With Data, 2008 author), some time.
