Just got my login credentials to the new Market Delta desktop. CQG is supporting directly. Thought I would start a new thread so that people were aware of the this and we could post any bugs or charts.

Very Interesting, thanks for posting.

I have been looking for information on the new platform online but I couldn't find any.

Can you post some screen shots?

What chart types does the new CQG MarketDelta platform support? I am interested in point and figure charts.

Can you have more than one chart open at a time?

I have been playing with it some today.... I'll try and post some pictures when I have had a chance to use it some more tomorrow. It has PnF as well as Profile Charts and Renko... Yes you can have multiple charts open. It should be able to do pretty much everything that MD does.

Hello guys, what do you think about the new platform?
I've tried it and although it's a rebranded CQG IC platform, I think MD lost a lot of charting quality mainly in Market Profile. What do you think?

regards

I agree. It's a total disappointment, and the entire process was very badly managed. I would expect to have received a letter or at least an email one year or two before the change so I could prepare accordingly.

They just had a webinar and gave people with years of use of MD Charts a couple of weeks to transition! That's absurd!

I’m trying to keep an open mind and still looking if I can use MD Desktop to do what I need to do, but so far the new platform falls way short. I'm surprised they went from one of the most powerful platforms to what seems to be a very weak platform in all aspects (charting, indicators, strategy support, etc.). One small example but with huge impact for some users is the lack of buttons. One powerful thing on MD Charts is that you can create all these buttons, and then flip time frames, indicators, studies, etc. The buttons seat in the bottom or top of the chart so the customization allowed is incredible. In MD Desktop you need to change to a different tab, very annoying for people like me that have 20 or 30 buttons on each chart with different purposes.

In addition, I’m still not sure why this abrupt change. Most likely I will be obliged to move to Investor R/T and get footprint somewhere else (or code it myself).

Also, my understanding is that in the new platform, you need to pay an add-on of $70 for the Market Profile. I need to recheck the price because it seems excessive for a very basic market profile capability (again, not even close to what MD Charts provide). So, the platform monthly cost will go from the current $200 to $269.

I would love to hear from other ‘current’ MD Charts users and their experiences with the transition.

@dstrader, I completely agree!

Yesrterday I was talking to a CQG/MD representative at the in-platform support chat. And they changed to CQG because of a "strategic decision". One day it's an Investor RT based platform, the next day it's a CQG powered one.

I agree, CQG is there for over 40 years, it used to be a standard in the Pits as they had a "CQG machine" . But for the best and worst it's an old platform! They surely have lots of functionalities but their charting capabilities (which should be the focus of MD) are way out of time. I can't even resize the MarketProfile charts, so when you drag the Price scale the TPO's just merge themselves to become 1,2,3ticks in one letter. It's anoying that you can't even see an entire 1 day profile in your screen (if we're talking about high range products like CL) unless you have an vertical 4k monitor. The MP doesn't even have all the colors by letter/time, you can't extend POC and Volume Nodes, nothing at all.

And most of all, they just increased their prices!!

If I want CQG I can get QTrader (wich has few options, agree) for free in most brokers.

The thing about MD, as I can see now, they just created FootPrint and demand a really high premium for that.

I'd be pretty thankful if anyone create a FootPrint Indicator to Investor RT

Here it is edgarlemos: https://amstradinggroup.com/deltaprint/

And for everyone else... Investor RT is exactly the same as MarketDelta, without the Footprint....

@Nikos314159, thank you! I've seen it yesterday after I've talked to MD support.

Even though it becomes cheaper at 12.5$ per month, i'd rather have an "pay once" product. And it seems to be not exactly the Footprints like MD in the format "1234x1234". And also the Imbalance FP, extended lines in "unfinished business" and color customize those.. Do you know if this product can make that? Also, they have the "IRT Complete Setup" which looks like that but they have not a lot of information on the website. And it costs 499€, seems acceptable.

Do you use this Add-on? Do you know any other alternatives?

Regards,
edgarlemos

Oh wow! thanks for this link Nikos. That's exactly what I need. You made my day!
I thought I would have to code it myself (in the end of the day Footprint in nothing more than a display of the bid x ask in a different way), but it would be a lot of work.

I wonder if Linnsoft could buy the Footprint engine from MD or if MD could do the same and provide it as a service to Linnsoft like the company above. Either way would be great because we users of MD would be able to continue using the footprint product as is.

As of now, there is no way I would move to MD Desktop (and again, I'm trying really hard to keep an open mind!). As you said, it seems a product from 15 years ago, very basic and needs lots of improvements just to be a match to MD Charts. I'm finding one restriction after another. I wish MD would have done a due diligence before doing this move. I feel they betrayed their customers. What a shame!

Hey Edgar,
I'm not allowed to advertise here. Bit since it was being asked..
It is my product and I have my developer full time on it and myself at the moment..
Many features are being added soon... Volume Imbalance due for next week..
And I'm open for suggestions, as I am using this myself as well..
Niels
