I have deleted the post, as it offended another member. The question remains, whether dogs are better than cows. The dog is our holy creature, we cannot stand a picture that shows a dog barbecue. The Hindu, who considers the cow a holy creature, certainly does not like the picture of a Texan steak.
But our allegedly superior culture gives us the right to eat as many steaks as we like and to reject any alternate views. Most predators feed on herbivores, humans feed on everything. But then we are God's creatures and were allotted the right to kill whatever we like. The rights however are different in each country.
Reality will not be changed, if we hide it. This doesn't work in China either.

Regarding your opinion Fat Tails, I whole heartedly agree with you. It is indeed somewhat weird to that these rights are different in various cultures (still wondering how you got to that from that video ), but on the other hand it's something that's to be expected from a psychological standpoint of view ( mere exposure effect; we're familiar with dogs, so we like them). Not that such an explanation makes it okay, but in my opinion it does make it explainable, and so it's not something I'm offended with.
It was more that I didn't expect such a picture in a Joke thread, so I was somewhat caught off guard. You shouldn't had to delete your post, cause the (text) contents where not something I found troubling; the graphic picture was in my opinion.
@Fat Tails picture was very hard, for people like me who don't eat dogs, and it's taboo is most countries.
Dogs are not animals like others: their domestication starts 15,000 years ago, and they became what humans want them to be.
