Hi

I am totally useless at programming, so could someone please help....

I wish to draw automatic fib extensions for the initial balance (first 60mins) on the ES. I wish to draw extensions from the high to the low and low to the high automatically, is this even possible with RT?

Any help would be great

Sure, there are a variety of ways to do this. I'll assume you are only interested in seeing these numbers for the current session. If so, you can do this all within the Price Bands indicator, creating a compact band on the right side of the chart that displays the IB along with up to 12 multiples/extensions. Import this chart: Images | ChartHub.com

To edit the band (edit the colors or multiples), simply dbl-click on the band where you see the "100" label. Once you've got the multiples and colors like you wish, simply drag that indicator to any other chart by dragging the "100" label and dropping into the other chart.

If you'd like more information about this functionality of Price Bands (compact bands), watch this video: Retracement Bands - LinnSoftware's library

Thank you for the above video, this was a great help.

I think that's doable. Give me more specifics on what you want to draw a retracement of exactly? Of the session high / low? Of the IB high / low? You would do it in the same way but the custom indicators would have to be coded to get the high and low of the VB data instead of the instrument data. Give me details and I'll send a chart definition.

I had to do a little work on the combination of VB, SESST and Bands, but I've enabled this to work in the next release. Next release will probably be 11.2 beta but should not be too far away. I'll post the solution to this thread once that release is available. Actually, I'll go ahead and post it for future reference, but be aware that the bands inside the VB pane will not work properly until the next release is out.

Hi Chad

As ive already explained programming is not my strong point (2 say the least)......

I would like the previous session high and low of the VB and reference these levels as a multiple using compact bands i.e 100%, 200% etc of the previous sessions VB levels........ How would i do this pal

Give this a try: VB_Previous_Bands_140407102013 | ChartHub
I'm using custom indicators which combine Session Statistics with VB.
SESST is used to get the high (low) of previous session.
VB is used to get the high (or low). It uses an embedded Indicator: MA: High, to do so.

One other note, you can change the drawing style to "Steps" to see these retracement levels plotted historically as you see in this chart: VB_Previous_Bands | ChartHub
Also, you can turn on the labels for both price and retracement percentage as I've done in that chart.
