Welcome to

Welcome, Guest!

This forum was established to help traders (especially futures traders) by openly sharing indicators, strategies, methods, trading journals and discussing the psychology of trading.

We are fundamentally different than most other trading forums:
  • We work extremely hard to keep things positive on our forums.
  • We do not tolerate rude behavior, trolling, or vendor advertising in posts.
  • We firmly believe in openness and encourage sharing. The holy grail is within you, it is not something tangible you can download.
  • We expect our members to participate and become a part of the community. Help yourself by helping others.

You'll need to register in order to view the content of the threads and start contributing to our community. It's free and simple, and we will never resell your private information.

Well when i say i think he's wrong really has to do with his opinion on futures traders, not that he is wrong about position trading. Clearly he makes money for his clients, and the proof is in the pudding

And I can accept that most futures traders loose money, for a whole host of reasons.. But plain and simple there are good traders out here and they make money. Sure its hard to learn how to be a good trader, but it can be achieved and futures trading shouldn't be dismissed completely as unworkable.

When I hear someone say "don't be a day trader, you'll fail", I imagine that same person telling a 5 year old "don't try to ride that bike, you'll fall and get hurt", well, I did fall, it did hurt, and i got back up and tried harder. To me, trading is the same, you sometimes loose at first, but if you keep pushing to learn how to be good, you can eventually learn to trade as easily as riding a bike :-)

I'm an intraday trader and I use stops religiously and my aim is to make $$$'s every day and there really aren't many down days.

And because I use stops I can trade at a much higher risk rate so 20pips profit which is frequent is worth I dunno, 100 or 200 to you.

And I'm in and out in anything from 5mins to 2 hours and can make that multiple times per day.

Where as you can get stuck in swing positions without an SL for months on end to make 1 of my trades.

Everyone I know who doesn't use SL's eventually goes to Margin call, EVERYONE seriously!

RED FLAGS all over this guy!
