Can someone confirm the high price of Oct 2007 for the ES contract traded at that time? (I'm thinking the Dec 2007 contract and 11 Oct 2007). I believe this was the highest price of 2007 so that's really what I'm asking.

Yes, ES 12-07 made its high on October 11 at 1586.75. The index high for the S&P 500 on the same day was 1576.09.

Yes, it was the all time high for the S&P 500 index, slightly above the high from March 24, 2000.

High March 24, 2000 : 1552.87
High October 11, 2007: 1576.09

Below is a chart that shows what happened in 2007, when the March 2000 high was approached.

Yesterday, the S&P 500 closed at 1530.94. It is only a few points away from its all time high.
