what do you think the s&p 500 will be at the end of the year.

the last 2 years we did that prediction in december, but I think it's more challenging to do it at the beginning of the last quarter.

I created an all years chart a while ago for the S&P 500 with the data averaged since 1950 so that I can see seasonal patterns. Below is the all years chart with today date marked up.



And this is the bear years only chart since 1950



So from these, both suggest a higher finish at the end of the year although the bear chart doesn't pick up to very late in the year whereas the all years chart rallies 4% or so on average from the end of October.

I think we might get back up into the 1300 to 1350 range personally.
