Sorry about resurrecting an old thread. My friend and I are running an automated strategy using NT8 and IB gateway version 9.60 (we were informed by NT support that this was the most stable one to use with NT8) and we have had to do manual log-in after disconnections no matter what version we used.


My friend has been on the phone with IB API dept constantly and it's aggravating as hell as you can imagine. Do the 3rd party solutions such as IBcontroller and TWSstart also work with NT8 or are they just for NT7?

You dont need to manually login. I connect my NT8 to IBGateway before server restart and when it come to server restart NT8 is disconected and then automatically connected to IBGateway.

We do use auto-logon and have the auto logon path filled out. We get about 2 disconnections a week, usually on a Friday and also Sunday or Monday. Each time we have to manually login. It's very frustrating.

I think IB shut down Sunday for maintenance. I saw message of users getting panic because they couldn't get in on Sunday.

IB gateway reconnects, but the IB connection in Ninjatrader shows red like there is an issue but we still have the option to disconnect the feed? Really strange, I don't understand this.

Here is an update of what has happened. I used a third-party solution and installed IBC. There have been no disconnection issues for over a day and no login prompt.
