Hi Guys,

Any of you trade the European Futures via IB. If so, how is the IB data feed, and what kind of commission are you paying? Is the experience as smooth as trading the CME or CBOT futures?

Thanks.

not sure if you're still looking but I have traded a few pretty heavily on IB: N225M and MHI. I dabbled in mini topix but its not very liquid and doesnt offer anything over the mini nikkei. Commissions on the n225 mini are super cheap, 40 yen a side, MHI is really expensive in comparison, 17HKD per side which is about $2.20. Data feed seems OK, it's IB data, so dont expect usable tick data. I have nothing to compare it to. Fills and trading seemed fine, no outages, no slippage so far. n225m is very liquid, some days rivaling ES volume

@dmh24

Which product specifically is the n225m? I know its Nikkei 225, but there are several different Nikkei futures offerred by several different exchanges (SGX/OSE/CME/Yen-denominated/Dollar-denominated/mini/etc...).

What hours do you trade the Nikkei?

Considering doing it myself, so curious.

Thanks.

I see

Sorry, for the barrage of questions. Just been very interested in doing something like this but it seems very few people are trading Asia futures in the US so its hard to get info. IB is one of the few brokers that even offers data from the Osaka exchange. Suprisingly, DTN does not. However, if using NT, you can still use tick charts with IB data, there is just no historical backfill.

yep yep no worries, i was in the same place and dove in. I dont use tick, but i did demo esignal for non-crap data as they offer OSE. I decided it wasnt worth the money per month, ibs wasnt bad on minute bars and I am not scalping but taht is always an option
