While browsing older posts, I find user that seem to have been banned and am curious what previous members have been banned for. I don't get the impression that you (Mike) and the moderators are up tight from the short time I've been here (a breeze of fresh air among so many financial forums).
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
We don't discuss publicly the reason for a particular ban, but this covers most:
- spam/advertising (99%)
- rude behavior
- attacking other members
Keep in mind you, the user, will not see any of the above. You will just see "banned". That is because the post(s) are removed and not allowed to stay on the forum if it is against our guidelines. We keep records in the moderator section, and we decide collectively if someone should be banned - usually after that person has received multiple warnings.
Perhaps 1 in 5,000 posts is deleted due to rude behavior or etc. This is not censorship. This is preventing futures.io (formerly BMT) from turning into mud-throwing like some other forums.
Anyone whos ever tried to ask for advice or insight on some other forums online would totally agree that there needs to be moderators to babysit the ones that are disruptive , and drop the hammer accordingly . When you started this site you made your intentions clear in that you wanted to see a forum where people could help and look for help without the BS and you followed through .
